Marketplace, Affordable Care Act (ACA) plans

Marketplace, Affordable Care Act (ACA) plans are permanent plans with comprehensive coverage.  They cover preventive visits, as well as provide coverage for pre-existing conditions.  Based upon income, you will either pay full price for the premium of a plan, or, be eligible for a subsidy to help pay a portion of your premium.  HealthSherpa is a Marketplace certified quoting platform that helps consumers find health insurance that meets their needs.  HealthSherpa allows you to see quotes with or without estimated subsidy. Short Term Medical Plans

Short-Term Medical Plans offer comprehensive health insurance for the unexpected illness or injury.  They do not cover pre-existing conditions, and eligibility is contingent upon how health questions are answered on the application.  Plans can be taken out for up to 36 months of coverage.  They are a good fit to fill gaps of coverage either due to leaving employment, school, or prior to coming onto Medicare.
